🌾 About Jiazhu Farm
Jiazhu Farm is located at the foot of the misty Coastal Mountain Range in Beinan Township, Taitung County, Taiwan. The daytime brings fog and sea breezes; at night, valley winds sweep down from the mountains toward the ocean — a unique microclimate ideal for cultivation.
👨🌾 Meet the Farmer
Liao Jia-zhu holds a master’s degree in Horticulture from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Dayeh University. Prior to farming, he worked as a Senior Engineer (Reliability Specialist) at VIA Technologies in Taipei.
Leaving the tech industry to return to his hometown of Taitung, he inherited farmland from his grandparents and applied engineering systems thinking to agricultural production — from post-harvest handling to microcontroller automation, from data analytics to field management — carving out a unique path that combines technology with sustainability.
Mr. Liao and his wife live on the farm with their three children — a family of five working together to protect this land.

🍅 Tomatoes
Our tomatoes are always naturally ripened on the vine. No artificial ripening agents, no rushing the harvest. We wait until the fruit truly matures on the plant before picking. This gives you the complete sweet-and-tangy flavor — every bite tastes like sunshine and earth.
🫘 Winged Bean
The winged bean is our signature crop. Indigenous cultivation, tracked traceability, full-plant utilization — pods, flowers, leaves, seeds, and tuberous roots are all edible. The protein content of the seeds reaches 30–35%, on par with soybeans.
🥭 Perfume Mango
Grown with bagged protection during summer season, natural pollination, rich aroma and delicate texture. Season: July to September.
